The deal
- Price: about $1.1B, all cash
- Property: about 30 acres at 318 NW 23rd St, Miami, anchored by the Mana Wynwood Convention Center
- Mana Common calls it the largest land assemblage deal in Florida history
- Mana keeps about 15 acres in Wynwood
- Mana's team keeps running the convention center for at least the next year
"It wasn't for sale"
- Griffin's team first approached Mana about 3 years ago
- Mana told them the property was not for sale
- About 3 days later, he engaged with Griffin's team
- Mana began buying in Wynwood in 2009, starting with a first piece for about $5M
- He describes the sale as passing the torch to someone who will build on what he started
What is planned for the site
- Carnegie Mellon University plans a 35 acre satellite campus in Wynwood
- It is part of Griffin's $3B gift to the university, with about $2B going to the Miami campus
- Plans include industry research labs and venture studios
Griffin's other Wynwood purchases
- January 2026: Griffin and Goldman Properties bought 545 Wyn, the 10 story office building at 545 NW 26th St, for $180M
- August 2026: entities managed by a Griffin-linked broker bought all 35 units at Wynwood Lofts, 250 NW 23rd St. Citadel's role in that purchase has not been confirmed.

- How a research campus and the jobs around it affect condo demand in Wynwood, Edgewater, Midtown, and Allapattah
- Whether owners near 318 NW 23rd St start getting unsolicited offers, the way Wynwood Lofts owners did
